Part-Time MBA students at Kellogg choose from the evening option or the Saturday option. Here’s a guide to help you choose the right program for you.

The Evening MBA Program

1.Ideal if you live in the Chicago area (including areas of Wisconsin and Indiana)

2.You may start classes in any quarter

3.You’ll take one or two courses per quarter

4.Classes meet on weekday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

5.Most complete the program in two-and-a-half to five years

6.You may take courses offered on Saturdays

7.You may choose from a variety of majors

The Saturday MBA Program

1.Ideal if you travel extensively during the week or live outside the Chicago area

2.Classes start in June

3.You’ll take two courses per quarter

4.Classes meet on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

5.Students complete the program as a cohort, and most finish within three years

6.A variety of Saturday Program majors are available

7.You may take evening classes that are not included in the Saturday program course structure, leading to additional options for majors

The following tuition fees apply to the 2008-2009 academic year.

The cost per one unit increases each academic year in the fall quarter by approximately 6.5 to 8 percent.

Tuition (each one unit course): $4,679

Tuition for a ½ unit course is $2,339.50

Late tuition payment fee: $100

Application fee (nonrefundable): $185

Activities Fee: $225

Duplicate/changed diploma: $50

Transcript of record: $5

ESSAYS

For EVENING Program

1. Describe your career goals: short term (while you pursue an MBA), post-MBA (immediately following), and long-term (10-15 years out)? Why have you selected the Kellogg School to assist you in accomplishing these goals?

(500-600 words)

2. Why are you interested in pursuing your MBA while continuing to work full time? Why have you selected an evening program and what do you feel you can contribute to it? (500 to 750 words)

3. Please respond to two of the following (750 words maximum each):

a) If you had to choose three people, alive or from another era, to travel with you on a car trip across the country, who would you choose and why?

b) You have just completed your 300 page autobiography. Please submit page 197.

c) If you could wake up tomorrow with one new ability or quality, what would it be and why?

4. OPTIONAL: Is there a component of your application that you would like to address to the Admissions Committee?

(250 words maximum)

For Saturday Program

Please respond to all of the following questions on separate typewritten sheets of paper and enclose your responses with your application materials.

1. Describe your career goals: short term (while you pursue an MBA), post-MBA (immediately following), and long-term (10-15 years out)? Why have you selected the Kellogg School to assist you in accomplishing these goals?

(500-600 words)

Note regarding application essays

As of 2/21/08, new essays were added to the application (online and Word download).

The changes are related to essay #3 (professional accomplishment and failure) and #4 (greatest personal accomplishment).

If you have already started answering the essays (in draft format online or the Word download) you can continue with the former questions and you do not need to incorporate the new essays.

If you start an application after 2/21/08, you will answer the new essay questions.

RECOMMENDATION

(Two recommenders)

1.Are you currently this applicant’s direct supervisor? Yes/No

2. How long have you known the applicant?

3. Under what circumstances have you known the applicant?

4. What do you consider the applicant’s most outstanding talents or characteristics?

5. What are the applicant’s chief liabilities or weaknesses?

6. How does the applicant interact with others in a team setting? How often do you observe this?

7. What goals do you perceive the applicant has established? How will graduate education in management help the applicant to realize those goals?

8. The Admissions Committee would appreciate any additional statement you may wish to make concerning the applicant’s capacity for graduate work and potential for becoming a responsible and successful manager.

(You can request to have your recommender submit the recommendation in a plain, sealed envelope with the recommender's signature over the seal.)

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.The online application allows you to submit all components online, with the exception of supporting documents such as the GMAT and transcripts.

2. Apply on paper. The paper-based application in Word format may be downloaded, completed and submitted by mail — along with supporting documents such as transcripts — to the Part-Time Program office.
